So, many people may not know but I am catholic, and the time of year in the church is called lent. Lent is the time of year that leads up to easter, in which we give up something that we love very much in order to get closer to God. Lent starts on ash wednesday, which was this wednesday.
This time around for Lent, I gave up Arizona, and Soda. I really want an arizona now, and a pepsi.
Did anyone else give things up for lent?

Dubious New models of news
IN RESPONSE to the article,
I believe that the future of journalism may be in the internet, but this does not mean we can abandon paper news. There is something about the accessibility of a newspaper that completely beats the accessibility of the internet news. With the age of technology making things faster and easier, the internet is becoming more accessible to almost everyone, but personally I would like to stick with a paper. While it is "easier" to click than turn the page I prefer the newspaper than an lcd screen.
Not to say that newspapers should be continued for traditions sake, but what happens when the power goes out? You can't replace the newspaper.

Resistance, Fall of the student.
Almost everyone in the school has heard about it. The outbreak of lice that has affected around twenty students in school. I've heard numbers like 15, 18, 25, 11, 17 and a few others but essetially we can say that this is spreading. Don't quote me, but I heard that it has spread from the 9th grade to a few 11th graders.
While I can't say much more truthfully as I don't know, I can say that your head probably itches a bit more now.

Heath Ledger... Oscar Winner
I just wanted to say that heath ledgers performance in the Dark Knight was more than deserving of a posthumous oscar. The depth of his character was so deep that I at least thought it was really hard to tell that this was the same person who played a cowboy in "brokeback mountain", or revolutionary war soldier in "the patriot".
Heath Ledger was an amazing actor and the drama crowd of Hollywood was debted to him after his performance in the dark knight. the least he could have gotten was a posthumous oscar. While I believe he could have reveived the award for best actor himself, supporting actor is no walk in the park either.
