So, we've been given the task to write about this whole blogging thing. I think overall it was very succesfull. Other than the fact that we're not killing trees to get work into mrs. Parker, it allowed us to talk through a school sanctioned program, journalism class.
It also allowed us to see eachothers feelings, shortfalls, fears, triumphs, and opinions on things. Some about college, some about prom, some about abusive celebrities. Really speedy too. Overall, Blogging was very succesfull as a 5th marking period project.

Cultural inclusions?
I hate to play devils advocate and stomp on peoples cultural traditions, but when you come to live in our country, you choose to adopt our constitution. Therefore when you adopt the constitution you must abide by our laws. Our laws state that things like coca leaves and certain traditions are illegal. I hate to say this but the traditions are illegal, so that does exclude them even if they are part of a religion.
I'm not just saying this because I'm straight edge and I don't do drugs either.
Church and state were seperated quite a while ago, and I believe it's wrong for them to be able to chew on coca, while someone elses "religion" could include rape, killing etc.....

the CYCLE.
The article about the Chris Brown situation is interesting. Like the author said, it does sound lie a classic case of battered woman syndrome.
The Fact that Riahana did forgive Chris so quickly in and of itself is not a bad thing, at least I don't think. Maybe someone in the world believes in forgiveness? Maybe someone has a heart that can forgive and forget? But again I do realize that this is not the typical reaction for someone who is in their right mind.
Abuse psychologically degrades women, and anyone for that matter. Rihana may have a case of battered woman syndrome, considering the fact that this was not the only case of abuse.
It is wrong.
There is not much of a way to stop it either. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear.

Barbie.
So we've been asked to write about Barbie. She turned fifty years old yesterday, which is pretty interesting considering she doesn't look a day over twenty.
So, why is Barbie so popular? Why do people drastically change their appearances to look more appealing? Why is today's society so focused on looks and appearances?
Barbie is a product of modern day society, the vision of a perfect woman, Blonde hair, Blue eyes, way too skinny (which some find appealing), A perfect house, "hot" husband Ken, and a perfect life.
Commercials and advertisements for Barbie put the psychological bug in young girls minds that they are not good enough, that Barbie Malibu beach house, with her perfect husband is the image of what these little girls should be.
I am NOT, by any means saying that every girl who has ever picked up a barbie doll is insecure, purges their stomachs of food to be skinny like Barbie, Bleaches their hair and tries to look "perfect". BUt what I am trying to get across is this. Barbie does not set the best example to 5 year old girls across the united States and the world for that matter.

to kill or not to kill.
The death penalty, being already widely debated alreeady, is being debated even more. But this time it's for a different reason. The same reason that everyone in the country is seeing their wallets get lighter, jobs lost, and inflation skyrocketing.
Capital punishment is being debated because of the cost of it.
Personally, I am not a fan of the death penalty. Gahndi says "and eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth leaves the whole world blind and toothless. This makes complete sense, I mean when you take a life, because of someone else taking a life, what have you accomplished? Perpetuating the cycle. more lives can only be lost by taking more lives.

Wanna help out?
I'm currently working on my Eagle Scout project, which involves a Book Drive which will benefit the troops overseas. Also, my troop will be making rosaries out of a some rope/cord.
So when you see a sign in the hallways that says: BOOK DRIVE! Support the troops overseas, be sure to help me out and donate some old books. Anything helps!
If you have any questions about the project, you can email me at drummerdudenator@gmail.com, or just find me during school.
THANKS

Euthanasia. [YOOTH-IN-AYJHA]
I'm very divided on this article, and this topic. Euthanasia is a very controversial topic which apparently has had books written about it, and alot of people die over it.
I believe that Euthanasia should only be allowed if it is medically proven that the person will die in less than six months, and they are in tremendous pain, but this should ONLY be after consent of a medial doctor.
BUt then again, it is the persons right to do what they want with their bodies, and their lives.
On the other hand, Suicide is technically illegal in the united states.
So, where do I stand? I don't know.
My religion tells me that Euthanasia is bad. But my head, which thinks with my religion quite a bit is divided.
